Current development and progress in the field of Computer Sciences and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) have many implications for institutions offering degree programs in Computer Sciences and IT related areas. One of the major purpose of the Bachelors’ degree in Computer Sciences or IT is to prepare the graduates for future needs of the society.
Computer Sciences and IT include the study, analyses, designing, implementation and application of what can be automated. It evolved as a result of the vast information revolution, which made it hard to escape computing and computers. The Bachelors of Science program in Computer Sciences (BSCS) concentrates on programming skills in a variety of paradigms, operating systems, networking and databases. Hands on experience with various software systems, C, C++, JAVA, Visual Programming languages, UNIX, Windows and Network tools are an integral part of this program.
The Faculty of Computer Sciences and Information technology offers a four-year program leading to either a BS degree in Computer Sciences. The specialization is determined by the choice of required and elective courses taken by a student.
The programs are designed to meet the growing need for computer science experts in the rapidly evolving 21st century economy. Their mission is to provide graduates with strong Computer Sciences skills that will enable them to capitalize on the increasing career opportunities in the computer sciences area, to expand the limits of their knowledge by pursuing further studies, and to explore innovative approaches to computer related problems. These specializations provide highly demanded expertise, a great mobility and flexibility, and an impressive range of possible career choices in the Computer Sciences and IT industry.
